Between the two companies, Godwin and Good Roads will supply the North Carolina DOT with several hundred dump bodies, hoists, and snowplows

Godwin Manufacturing and sister company Good Roads recently won two state of North Carolina DOT (NCDOT) contracts. The jointly awarded five-year contracts will supply the state DOT with approximately 500 dump bodies and hoists, along with 500 snowplows.

More specifically, the companies are tasked with manufacturing and installing 250 10-ft. single-axle dump bodies, 250 15-ft. tandem dump bodies, 250 10-ft. snowplows, and 250 12-ft. snowplows. NCDOT has the option to increase quantities of all items. The state dump body contract called for the use of minimum AR450 steel construction.

Godwin and Good Roads both plan to exceed the required specifications with the use of Hardox AR500 Tuf steel construction at no additional cost to the state. Steel dump bodies and snowplows manufactured by The Godwin Group come standard with zinc thermoset primer and either a liquid or powder-coated topcoat that meets 5,000 accelerated salt spray resistant hours using ASTM B117, the companies claim.

Godwin Manufacturing and Good Roads are part of The Godwin Group of companies located in Dunn, North Carolina.
