Class 5-7 orders in November totaled 18,407 units, up 28% year-over-year, according to ACT Research.
After a high-side surprise in October, Class 8 orders provided some low-side disappointment in November. For the month, new and net orders were 22,231 and 21,255 units, respectively.
“Class 8 orders for the U.S. and Canada have generally outperformed their year-ago results,” said Kenny Vieth, president and senior analyst at ACT Research Co., LLC. “In contrast, export orders have fallen 26% year-over-year and orders for Mexico have slowed sharply in the year’s second half.
“For medium duty, November is typically a weak order month, but seasonally adjusted November orders of 19,100 units were the second-best volume this cycle.”
