Merritt Equipment Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Merritt Equipment Co. celebrated its 60th Anniversary on August 6 by inviting its 265 employees and their families to enjoy a day of family fun at May Farms in Byers, CO.

Merritt Equipment Co. celebrated its 60th Anniversary on August 6 by inviting its 265 employees and their families to enjoy a day of family fun at May Farms in Byers, CO.

Co-Founder, Guinivere T.E. Merritt, who is 92, traveled from Vancouver, WA, to attend the celebration. In total, there were four generations of the Merritt family in attendance at the event.

Merritt manufactures livestock and commodity semi trailers, gooseneck trailers and aluminum products such as tool boxes, steps, and limited security racks for use in the tractor-trailer industry. Merritt also has a large parts and service department in Henderson, CO, and a branch location in Fremont, NE.

The family-owned company, founded in 1951 in Portland, Oregon, opened its facility in Henderson, CO, in 1970 and has been headquartered in Henderson since 1980.

“In the past 60 years, Merritt has provided a high quality product with the help of quality employees, quality suppliers and an overall pride in the company and our workmanship,” Merritt said. “We are looking forward to new products in all of our lines and the need for future expansion of our manufacturing facility and employee base.

“We would like to thank our customers who have made the last 60 years possible and we look forward to our continued relationships over the next 60 years.”
