Buyers upgrades SnowDogg, SaltDogg products, website

March 7, 2019
Buyers Products recently introduced a host of upgrades to its SnowDogg and SaltDogg snow and ice product lines.

Buyers Products recently introduced a host of upgrades to its SnowDogg and SaltDogg snow and ice product lines, and the SnowDogg landing page, including a new medium-duty combination dump spreader, a new series of Expressway plows, a new SuperFlex plow, and new generation of snow plows for half-ton trucks.

All the new products are expected to be available for the 2019-20 winter season.

The SaltDogg Medium Duty MDS combination dump spreader is designed for commercial and municipal applications on Class 4-7 trucks such as the Ford F-Series, Freightliner M2 Series, International CV Series, Chevrolet Silverado Chassis Cabs and RAM Chassis Cabs.

It’s the first combination body in its class to offer a fully electric drive option, Buyers said. This means that it can be installed on a truck without a separate central hydraulic system, though a hydraulic drive option also is available. With optional removable pre-wet tanks, the dump spreader is built for all-season use.

“It’s a fantasitic addition to our SaltDogg line-up,” said Scott Moorman, director of engineering at Buyers. “The fully electric option is truly one-of-a-kind. Now we can offer our customers a year-round solution that provides an extremely cost-effective way to turn medium-duty trucks into year-round Swiss army knives.”

The dump spreader is built from 10-gauge, 304 stainless steel with roll-formed radius sides to maximize capacity. A cross-member-free design makes it easy to clean, and a low center of gravity reduces the strain on the truck.

The SnowDogg Expressway Plow is the largest and most powerful option in Buyers’ growing line of municipal plows.

The hydraulically reversible plow features a massive flared steel moldboard with a roll-formed top. The construction results in an integral deflector that stands 40 inches high in the middle and 56 inches at either end. This makes the plow throw snow farther than a traditional straight-blade and helps improve visibility for the operator by reducing drift.

“The Expressway is an enormous addition to our complete line of municipal offerings, literally and figuratively,” said Frank Dickinson, manager of municipal sales at Buyers. “We pride ourselves on our wide selection, and now municipalities can get a powerful, full-featured expressway plow with the same high quality, fast delivery and top notch value they’ve come to expect from Buyers.”

Other highlights include a tubular steel push frame that spans across the moldboard ribs and a ¾-inch angular sector that provides the strength and durability needed to plow large amounts of heavy snow at high speeds. The series is available in 10-gauge, 304 stainless steel or Tuff Kote powder-coated 7-gauge carbon steel, with a trip edge or full trip.

Operators can “flex” the upper moldboard of the SnowDogg SuperFlex into various positions, Buyers said, making it ideal for urban and expressway use.

Two hydraulically operated pivoting ribs and a tubular pivoting upper cross-member transform the UHMW polyethylene moldboard on-the-fly. Operators can switch between standard, left and right discharges from the cab of their vehicles. The blade can be curled down to fit under mailboxes or control light powdery snow or it can be opened up to throw loads of heavy snow.

“Our new SnowDogg SuperFlex is an extremely versatile addition to our line-up,” Dickinson said. “We now have the perfect solution for municipalities in need of a combination high-speed, city-highway plow that can handle anything that’s thrown at it.”

The SuperFlex features a 304 stainless steel lower moldboard skin with a 4-inch-by-4-inch-by-¾-inch trip edge. A fully boxed A-frame and 16-inch outboard nitrated cylinders are standard.

The company’s new generation of SnowDogg snow plows are designed for half-ton trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and RAM 1500.

The plows feature full-power hydraulic blade angling and robust grade 50 steel frames. Popular features like the Floating A-frame, municipal-style chain lift and standard 304 stainless steel blades were carried over from SnowDogg’s EXII, HDII and VXFII lines.

“The goal with the MDII and VMDII is to redefine the scope of what a half-ton plow can do,” Moorman said. “These plows are still ideal for driveways and other residential work, but they have the strength to tackle light commercial work too.”

A new RapidLink Attachment System is designed to allow plow operators to quickly attach and detach the plow from the driver’s side of the truck without circling around to the other side of the plow. A hydraulically operated Jack Switch changes the plow’s mounting height on the fly to ease plow-to-vehicle alignment.

Finally, the new SnowDogg website landing page allows users to quickly find a plow that fits their vehicle.

Users enter their vehicle’s make, model and year, as well as a few other key details, to filter down the available plows, making it easier to find the right fit. Once a user has selected a plow, they can request local pricing and availability directly from participating dealers.

“It’s a win for everyone involved,” said Jim Nerone, chief intelligence officer at Buyers. “People shopping for plows instantly get the information they need to make an informed purchasing decision and SnowDogg distributors get connected with new potential customers.”

The site redesign also features new videos, photos and dynamic plow descriptions designed to make the plow purchasing process easier. The new and improved SnowDogg web experience is live now at buyersproducts.com/catalog/snowdogg-9.
