South Carolina Ports has chosen Phillips Connect as its telematics provider for its new port-owned and port-operated SMART Pool chassis fleet.

SC Ports will use Phillips Connect’s StealthNet GPS tracking technology on its SMART Pool chassis fleet to maximize efficiencies and gain insight into its supply chain. StealthNet will monitor chassis for location, mileage, and power usage.

“SC Ports is launching its SMART Pool to enhance the reliability, safety, quality and availability of chassis equipment to support supply chain fluidity,” said Barbara Melvin, SC Ports CEO.

StealthNet is a sturdy, waterproof, high-performance tracking gateway that installs in 10 minutes or less, with two charging options and a 10-year rechargeable battery capable of operating without recharge for up to six months.

“After reviewing several vendors, we felt very confident partnering with Phillips Connect for our new SMART Pool,” said James Caudill, SC Ports’ chassis pool director. “We were impressed with the quality, capability and reliability of its technology. The quick installation is beneficial to operations, and the fleet visibility will help maintain fluidity in the supply chain.”

The partnership comes after Phillips Connect has worked to expand its customer base with their ‘trade show on wheels,’ delivering demos directly to commercial fleets via their solar-powered tech trailer.

“The StealthNet solution SC Ports has chosen for its new chassis pool will have very robust capabilities out of the gate, but also has great potential to grow with them,” said Cliff Creech, Phillips Connect’s director of sales engineering.
