250,000-square-foot space in Tulsa OK to serve as company’s primary manufacturing center for work truck PTOs

Muncie Power recently broke ground on a new manufacturing facility in Tulsa OK.

The new 250,000-square-foot building will provide additional capacity for new manufacturing machinery, assembly equipment and warehousing; and serve as the company’s primary manufacturing facility for the production and assembly of power take-offs (PTOs) and other hydraulic components for work trucks.

The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2021, Muncie said.

“Today marks an exciting new chapter for Muncie Power Products as we break ground on a new manufacturing facility,” said Ray Chambers, chairman, CEO and president of Muncie Power. “This new facility will allow us to better serve our customers and support market demand, while also providing the best possible working conditions for all of our employees at this location.”

Muncie Power has provided stability and jobs for area residents for more than 30 years. The company first began making PTOs in Tulsa through a joint partnership with Tulsa Winch, a division of Sperry Vickers. In November 1986, Muncie purchased the facilities in Tulsa and shifted to manufacturing products for the work truck industry.

“This is a huge investment for our employees and our community, which will continue to enhance our abilities to satisfy our customers,” said Doug Sullivent, senior executive director for operations.

“I am really excited about all the possibilities and improvements that our new manufacturing facility will provide our employees.”
