Thiele Manufacturing was awarded a contract through Mack Trucks Inc to build approximately 200 dump truck bodies in the second and third quarters of 2007 for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The firm will install the bodies, plows, spreaders, and hydraulics on Mack chassis at its Windber PA facility, and the completed vehicles will be delivered to depots throughout the state.

Thiele currently employs about 75-80 people; however, this is expected to grow with the additional work.
