The Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation (SME-EF) has $260,000 in more than 90 scholarships and fellowships for graduating high school seniors, college undergraduate, and graduate students pursuing degrees in manufacturing engineering and related fields. Students must be enrolled or accepted at an accredited institution in the United States or in Canada. Deadline for submissions is Feb 1, 2001.
Seven different scholarships - or more than $108,600 - are available to graduating high school students and range from $600, offered by a local SME Chapter, to the SME Family Scholarship Award of $20,000 awarded annually to a child or grandchild of an SME member.
Current undergraduate students are offered 17 different scholarship opportunities - or about $260,000 - if they are fulltime students enrolled in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, or closely related fields of study at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada, meet the criteria of the individual scholarship, and have the indicated gradepoint average.
Graduate students are being offered two scholarship awards ranging from $1,000 each up to fellowships of $4,000 to $12,000 each if they are accepted into a graduate program for a master's or doctorate degree; have proven scholastic ability, exemplary character, and leadership capability; and have demonstrated potential for future leadership.
