Smith Truck Body in Rosebush, Michigan, was recently featured by the Michigan Small Business Development Center as one of its Growing Companies.
Smith builds and installs roll-off trucks, hook lift trucks and rear load garbage trucks. The company also sells heavy duty truck parts and services light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and does mobile hydraulic repairs.
“Not many people are like us—first in this industry,” CEO Curtis Smith said, explaining how he turned to Michigan SBDC to refine his business plan and package it in a way that was more compelling to financial institutions.
As a result of the consultation, Smith secured a loan from Northern Initiatives that allowed him to expand the business, hire a new employee and buy new equipment.
