MaxiTRANS slashes lead times for Live Bottom trailers

Dec. 11, 2019
MaxiTRANS recently reduced delivery times for its Trout River Live Bottom trailers.

Australian trailer manufacturer MaxiTRANS says it recently reduced delivery times for its Trout River Live Bottom trailers by streamlining processes and adding a new production line at its Queensland facility.

Trout River Australia joined the MaxiTRANS family in December 2018.

MaxiTRANS improved its manufacturing processes at Trout River’s Hallam facility in Victoria, and commenced production of its Live Bottom trailers in Queensland, helping it reduce lead times for its customers “by over half,” the company said.

“By streamlining production of the Live Bottom trailer, we are able to provide our customers with even greater access to the product, and now with the added benefit of shorter lead times,” said Trout River Australia’s Rodney Wells.

MaxiTRANS designs and produces all its trailers in Australia.

“We are also proud that, while production of our Live Bottom trailers has become more efficient, we have been able to continue to deliver the same high level of quality the product is known for,” Wells said.

Live Bottom trailers provide operators with an alternative to conventional tipping and side-tip trailers, with a specialized capability to unload bulk commodities via an interior conveyor belt system. “These trailers are ideally suited for working in environments with low-hanging electric cables or construction sites with height restrictions,” Wells said.

The system, ideal for bulk haulage fleets, helps provide a safer working environment for drivers and construction workers who need to unload in areas where there are height or space restrictions that make a conventional tipping trailer impractical, MaxiTRANS said. The trailer’s clean discharge process leaves no material inside the trailer after unloading.

The company also offers a Live Bottom patching unit that can maintain load temperatures, which is useful with some loads in Australia’s extreme climate.

“The wide diversity of specialized applications means bulk material can be delivered with accuracy and safety in a wide variety of applications, and the Live Bottom system can be configured to trailer or rigid variations,” Wells said.

The Live Bottom trailer can fitted with a variety of specialized attachments, including chip spreaders, diffusers, side conveyors, shoulder chutes, spreaders and a water tank.

“With added manufacturing capacity, now is the perfect time to invest and grow your fleet’s capabilities,” Wells said. “If you haven’t considered this type of product before, then now is the time to discuss with MaxiTRANS to see how Live Bottom trailers can complement your business.”
