European trailer giant Krone Commercial Vehicle Group has made a deal to acquire Knapen Trailers, the market leader in moving floor trailers, the companies report.
As per June 24, Krone Commercial Vehicle Group has taken over 100% of the shares of the Knapen group with its subsidiaries Knapen Trailers BV, Knapen Service BV and Trailned BV. The transaction is subject to the approval of the respective regulatory authorities, and terms were not disclosed.
The deal is designed is combine Krone’s expertise in standard trailers with the custom specialist market approach of Knapen. Under the roof of Krone, Knapen will continue to operate on a fully independent basis, according to the announcement. The management team of Knapen will remain unchanged and no reorganization will be implemented. The same goes for the highly specialized European dealer network.
Knapen Trailer is located in Deurne in the south-east of The Netherlands. The company offer a “one-stop-shop” solution featuring service, spare parts, rental, leasing and second-hand trading.
Krone Commercial Vehicle Group is part of the Bernard Krone Holding SE & Co. KG with headquarters in Spelle, Germany.
