HB Commercial grows again with new trailers from Krone

HB Commercial recently added more Krone Box Liner container carriers to its rental fleet.

HB Commercial recently added more Krone Box Liner container carriers to its rental fleet, which the company says establishes its as the largest single provider of Krone Box Liners in the United Kingdom.

Based in Ipswich—with a fully equipped workshop and support hubs in Harwich and Felixstowe, and a another parts supply center in Witham—HB Commercial is strategically located to service the busy commercial vehicle traffic flowing through each of the major ferry ports.

“We were among the first to use Krone’s new Box Liners,” said Oliver Brunt, HB Commercial’s operations director. “Because of their flexible loading and ability to easily handle tough, pick-up-and-drop ferry work, demand over the last couple of years has far exceeded our initial expectations.”

Manufactured by Krone in Germany, the Box Liner was designed with close involvement from the Krone UK sales team, primarily to ensure compatibility with the UK and Irish market. The sliding chassis is quickly and easily adjusted to carry any standard sized dry freight or tank container, Krone said, and its “no-frills” specification helps ensure easy and fast operation.

The Box Liner also combines “tried and tested” features, including the latest KTL paint application process and cutting-edge telematics technology. The result, according to Krone, is a no-nonsense specification with a 10-year guarantee against corrosion perforation, loading flexibility, asset management control and a long working life.

Regarding trailer control, an optional Krone telematics package enables HB Commercial and their customers to monitor tire pressure, mileage records for maintenance intervals, empty running or reduced-load miles, braking system status and trailer location, Krone maintained.

Additionally, an automatic notification can be set to provide alerts regarding ABS or EBS malfunctions, and a further alert made to the customer if any remedial work has not been carried out within a given time frame.

“We have a long-term supply arrangement with Krone,” Brunt said. “And with each new trailer consignment from them comes a high standard of product and service. In many ways their approach to business matches ours—two family-run organizations with compatible views towards our people and our customers.

“Invest in both, and both will continue to thrive.”
