Dot Transportation wants help picking new trailer design

Aug. 16, 2018
Dot Transportation wants help selecting the design for its new military-themed trailer.

Dot Transportation Inc, an affiliate company of redistributor Dot Foods Inc, wants help selecting the design for its new military-themed trailer. Now through Aug. 19, the public is encouraged to select a favorite from three design options and cast a vote at drivefordot.com/veterans.

These three new design options and the original trailer were created by Yvette Seal, Dot Foods senior graphic designer. The military-themed trailer travels across the nation as part of the Dot Transportation fleet. Since it was introduced, the trailer has been in high demand by each of Dot’s 11 distribution centers for appearances at community events, job fairs and veterans activities.

“The military-themed trailer was a huge success the first time,” said Paul Mugerditchian, Dot Transportation president. “So of course we wanted to do it again. Dot Foods and Dot Transportation have a long history of supporting our military; Robert Tracy, our founder, served in the Marines. We’re very proud of our veteran employees in all departments of the company. Our trucks and trailers are how most people recognize our brand, so we think the military-themed trailer is a great way to show our veteran employees—and veterans everywhere—how much we appreciate their service to our country.”

Dot Transportation employs nearly 2,100 nationwide. More than a quarter of those jobs are at the company’s Mt Sterling IL headquarters.

Dot Foods carries 127,000 products from 930 food industry manufacturers making it the largest food industry redistributor in North America. Through Dot Transportation, the company distributes foodservice, convenience, retail and vending products to distributors in all 50 states and more than 35 nations. Dot Foods operates 11 US distribution centers, which are in Mt Sterling, Modesto CA, Vidalia GA, Burley ID, Cambridge City IN, Williamsport MD, Liverpool NY, Ardmore OK, Dyersburg TN, University Park IL and Bullhead City AZ. Dot Foods’ Canadian operations are in Toronto, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta.

Both companies are looking to fill several positions for full and part-time drivers and warehouse personnel in all US locations.
