American Equipment & Trailer Inc, with locations in Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, has recently changed ownership.

American Equipment & Trailer Inc, with locations in Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, has recently changed ownership.

After dedicating 60 years to American Equipment & Trailer, Larry Stallings has retired and sold the business to his sons in law, Stan Mayfield of Lubbock and Randy Sluder of Amarillo and their wives Cindy Stallings Mayfield and Tanya Stallings Sluder.  The sale became effective January 27.

This marks the third generation of ownership for the Stallings family.  Chester Stallings established the business in Amarillo in 1953 and later opened the second location in Lubbock.  He successfully ran the business until his retirement, turning the business over to his son Larry.

Since its start, American Equipment & Trailer has grown and diversified into multiple semi-trailer lines, a vast selection of truck equipment and related accessories for all types of semis and pickups. Products offered include cattle trailers, grain trailers, flatbeds, construction trailers, refrigerated trailers and dry van trailers. Other equipment available include service bodies, cranes, hoists, winches, oilfield bodies and fifth wheels. Both facilities offer a full line of parts and services.

The new owners said in a statement, "We are excited, yet humbled by the opportunity to continue a very successful family business built on trust, integrity, quality service and care for our customers.   We pledge to continue providing this same level of service and excellence for many years to come."

American Equipment & Trailer, serves the Panhandle, South Plains, Permian Basin and eastern New Mexico.  For more information about American Equipment & Trailer, contact Stan Mayfield or Randy Sluder at (806) 383-8831 or (806) 747-2991 or visit the company’s website: www.americantrailer.com.
