The National Trailer Dealer Association’s 32nd annual convention returns to The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., which hosted the then-record setting 2018 event. Attendees can look forward to a similar combination of industry insights, resort activities, and area attractions with this year’s show, set for Oct. 12-14.
Multiple networking events include a reception for first-time attendees and event sponsors, and a Rocky Mountain Welcome Reception on Wednesday. Attendees will enjoy the gorgeous fall colors and high-altitude atmosphere while sampling local fare and connecting with fellow trailer dealers and suppliers. The 2018 event featured an assortment of area wildlife, beverages and even a tomahawk toss.
The General Session and Keynote Presentation on Thursday includes the annual State of the Association address, an economic overview focused on freight and the semi-trailer industry, a supply chain forecast and trailer OEM and supplier presentations.
The annual Exhibition and Luncheon on Thursday will feature more than 90 displays that include new semi-trailer products and innovations, finance options, management software, and more.
After lunch, attendees may select from concurrent sessions presenting ways to improve dealer parts and service profitability, Federal Excise Tax best practices for trailer dealers, and a dealer finance panel discussion.
Alternatively, spouses and guests may take a foodie tour for the afternoon.
As always, the annual Golf Tournament on Friday is expected to draw a sizable attendance for the NTDA’s Scholarship Program fundraiser. The NTDA has awarded more than $225,000 in scholarships to children of NTDA member employees since 1998.
The Awards Dinner on Friday evening features a keynote presentation by Jim Abbott who, after being born with only one hand, went on to play baseball at the highest levels, winning the U.S. Baseball Federation's Golden Spikes award as the best amateur player in the country before beginning a Major League career highlighted by a no-hitter when he pitched for the N.Y. Yankees. As a professional motivational speaker, Abbott shares how he was able to overcome perceived limitations and reach his dreams.
Registered attendees should check their email for information on how to download the convention app.
