Koike Aronson, Inc./Ransome has opened a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its main facility in Arcade, NY.
Koike added the manufacturing and office space, nicknamed the “Big House,” to help meet rising demand for all of its equipment, which is used in a range of heavy industries such as mining, energy and transportation.
“Our business has increased tremendously over the past several years,” said CEO Jerry Leary, who also noted that about a third of Koike’s sales are overseas. “That growth is a result of the hard work and innovativeness of our employees.”
The new area, designed to be energy efficient, houses the company’s Positioner Assembly Department as well as two new 600-square-foot paint booths. It is served by a pair of overhead cranes (134-foot spans) that are the largest cranes ever to be both built and installed in New York state.
With this expansion, Koike’s Arcade facility now totals 167,000 square feet. The new area is configured to allow another 70,000 square feet, if needed in the future.
