PPG recently announced the schedule of commercial coatings training classes for the second quarter of 2019.
Commercial coatings courses set for April, May and June will cover DELFLEET ESSENTIAL and DELFLEET Evolution brands, along with other popular PPG commercial performance coatings (CPC) product lines. All classes are structured to ensure paint technicians are up to date with PPG products, processes and technological advances.
Classes are led by expert instructors, take one to two days each and are held at PPG Business Development Centers and various field locations throughout the US and Canada. Participants receive classroom instruction and, when appropriate, hands-on experience in the spray booth.
A partial list of upcoming PPG commercial coatings courses includes:
- April 23-24: Commercial Performance Coatings, Pittsburgh PA
- April 24-25: Delfleet Essential Certification, Atlanta GA
- May 7-8: Delfleet Evolution Certification, Kansas City MO
- May 16: Delfleet Essential Certification, Seattle WA
- June 18-19: Delfleet Evolution Certification, Toronto, Canada
- June 18-19: Delfleet Evolution Certification, Orlando FL
PPG said its training is the most extensive in the commercial coatings industry. Classes cover topics ranging from an overview of commercial coatings, product selection, color tools and equipment, to surface preparation and paint application best practices. The unique requirements of commercial fleets also are reviewed. In addition, technicians receive instruction on the business side of the refinish process and the efficient use of commercial coatings to boost productivity, profitability and refinish quality while raising customer satisfaction.
As noted in the schedule, classes for certification in the use of Delfleet Essential and Delfleet Evolution products are offered. PPG technicians must be certified every two years. When PPG technicians and their respective commercial collision centers are certified, the centers may qualify for participation in the PPG Commercial Vehicle Paint Performance Warranty program.
