SSAB certifies GF Engineering's Hardox-infused tippers

SSAB recently announced GF Engineering as the newest member of its Hardox In My Body customer program.

Steel manufacturer SSAB recently announced GF Engineering as the newest member of its Hardox In My Body customer program.

GF Engineering is a tipper trailer manufacturer in Ipoh, Malaysia.

The Hardox In My Body is a sign used only on premium products from manufacturers certified by SSAB. It is SSAB’s guarantee that the manufacturer has extensive knowledge of manufacturing state-of-the-art products in high-strength steel, and that the certified product is made with genuine Hardox wear plate.

GF Engineering has met strict quality guidelines and demands set out by SSAB, the company said. The program is limited to companies with a track record of excellence in fabrication that have shown their production quality, welding and design meet SSAB’s defined standards.

Established in 1986, GF is one of the leading tipper trailer manufacturers specializing in the manufacturing of heavy transport equipment, including semi-trailer, tanker and tipper/dumper truck.

After using Hardox 450 grade in its equipment for the first time, the vehicle’s bodies became lighter and last longer, SSAB said. Tippers made of Hardox steel offer strong bodies and are able to handle the heaviest and toughest loads, while still keeping their shape.

SSAB said Hardox is resistant to wear and its structural properties allow it to perform as a load-carrying part in many applications. A stronger and lighter truck also allows for fewer hauls, more fuel savings and reduced emissions, the company said.
