VMAC releases air compressors, multi-power systems for 2019 MY trucks, vans

VMAC recently released its latest UNDERHOOD air compressors and Direct-Transmission Mounted (DTM) PTO-Driven systems for 2019 trucks and vans.

VMAC recently released its latest UNDERHOOD air compressors and Direct-Transmission Mounted (DTM) PTO-Driven systems for 2019 trucks and vans.

The company says it will offer more than 25 different systems engineered to fit with 2019 trucks and vans by Ford, RAM, GM/Chevrolet and Mercedes/Freightliner.

“We’re continually expanding our vehicle-integrated air compressor and multi-power system product lines to meet our customers’ needs,” said Barry Fitzgerald, VMAC’s engineering manager. “With our release of over 25 systems, we’re ensuring our customers have access to the UNDERHOOD Air Compressors and DTM PTO-Driven Systems they need as they upgrade their service truck fleets to the latest 2019 models.”

UNDERHOOD was first released in 1997 when VMAC manufactured the UNDERHOOD 70 Air Compressor, the first rotary screw air compressor mounted under the hood of a truck. More than 20 years and 25,000 UNDERHOOD air compressors later, UNDERHOOD is VMAC’s flagship product, with CFM capabilities ranging from 40 CFM to 140 CFM at 100% duty cycle.

“UNDERHOOD Air Compressors for trucks and vans are favored in the industry for being lightweight and space-saving, while delivering powerful on-demand air in any climate,” said Mike Pettigrew, VMAC’s marketing manager.

“UNDERHOOD is the best choice for customers who need to save space and weight on their vehicles and minimize the maintenance required on their equipment.”

In addition to UNDERHOOD Air Compressors for trucks, VMAC manufacturers what it calls the only UNDERHOOD Air Compressor specifically engineered for commercial vans. In 2016, VMAC expanded its vehicle-integrated product line to include the Direct-Transmission mounted PTO driven air compressor, the DTM70. In 2018, the DTM70-H was released, producing air and hydraulic power at the same time.

“By continually expanding our product line, VMAC is keeping its promise to be the leader in mobile compressed air innovation,” Fitzgerald said.

UNDERHOOD 40 Air Compressor (up to 40 CFM*) applications:

  • Ford F250—F550 Super Duty trucks with 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine (V400011)
  • GM/Chevrolet 2500HD—3500HD trucks with 6.0L Vortec gas engine (V400007)

Coming later in 2019:

  • RAM 2500—5500 trucks with 6.7L Cummins diesel engine (V400016)

UNDERHOOD 40 Van Series Air Compressor (up to 40 CFM*) applications:

  • Ford Transit with 3.5L EcoBoost gas engine (V400009)
  • Ford Transit with 3.7L Duratec gas engine (V400014)
  • Ford Transit Connect with 2.5L Duratec gas engine (V400008)
