EZ STAK expands in New York

Jan. 14, 2020
Company’s new US headquarters in Watertown made possible through $1.24M regional economic development grant

EZ STAK, which optimizes mobile workspaces for trailers, vans, work trucks and service bodies, recently moved to a new 75,000-square-foot facility in Watertown NY.

The company said the new facility, situation on 12 acres, is an upgrade from its previous 14,660-sq-ft facility, allowing it to better serve customers, with increased space for manufacturing operations, powder coating, assembly of products, shipping and receiving, and upfitting trailers, and a customer showroom/training center.

EZ Stak’s move from Canada to its new US headquarters was made possible through a $1.24 million grant from Empire State Development that was part of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.

“Our new facility in upstate New York is a major step in the continued growth of EZ STAK,” said Phillip Wade, director of operations. “Our expansion will help EZ STAK bring more skilled manufacturing jobs to the USA and fulfill our commitment within Jefferson County.”

EZ STAK first moved to Watertown from Schaumburg IL in May 2018. The decision to expand to Watertown was a strategic move to deliver quality and value to customers, improve logistics, and the added advantage of overseeing operations, as EZ STAK’s corporate headquarters is in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, the company said. Since May 2018, EZ STAK has hired 23 employees in Watertown and plans to hire 15 more within three years at the new facility.

“We are very excited to officially announce the expansion to our larger facility on Old Rome State Road,” said Mike Lawrenson, EZ STAK’s president and CEO. “Watertown is a great city and we have hired talented people that I am proud to have on our growing team.”
