Momentum Fuel Technologies recently expanded its line of refuse truck fuel systems, adding a high-capacity compressed natural gas (CNG) tailgate system, and new front-of-body, roof-mount and back-of-cab configurations.
The company said its new CNG tailgate system is the largest available, offering a 120-diesel-gallon-equivalent (DGE) capacity it claims provides the longest range in the industry, benefiting fleets with longer rural routes.
Momentum also added a front-of-body fuel system with up to 75 DGE capacity. The system is integrated with the truck body, providing a clean, streamlined appearance and allowing for a tighter wheel base, the company said.
The new lineup also features roof-mount and back-of-cab fuel systems with 95 DGE capacity.
The 95 DGE roof mount utilizes previously unused space in the 75 DGE system without enlarging the unit’s overall size.
“We are always looking for ways to provide innovative solutions to our customers, and the increased capacities in these fuel systems were designed and built to meet the unique needs of the refuse industry,” said Mike Zimmerman, general manager of Momentum Fuel. “With the 95 DGE roof mount, in particular, customers experience a direct cost savings by getting the range they need without having to mount an additional CNG tank on their truck.”
The 95 DGE back-of-cab system also provides more fuel in the same footprint, and it’s integrated with Momentum’s fuel management module, so the entire package can be installed faster and requires less frame space, Momentum said.
