Phillips Industries recently added two new gladhand options to the AIR-DEFENSE Swinger System.

The trailer air-line filtration system with gladhand now is available with Phillips’ straight service, and emergency gladhands with anodized bodies and stainless-steel connector and detent plates, providing the protection against corrosion.

The original stand-alone AIR-DEFENSE System with replaceable Quick-Change Cartridge was created to keep the trailer air-line brake system free of debris obstruction. It is comprised of two components, the anodized housing and one-piece screw-in filter with visible service indicator. The Quick-Change Cartridge features a bypass mode that ensures airflow, even when the filter is full.

A non-resettable red indicator on the bottom of the cartridge pops out as notification for replacement, which takes minutes.

The AIR-DEFENSE Swinger System, combining the technology of the original stand-alone system with a swinger gladhand, swivels 180 degrees side-to-side, keeping air lines kink-free during use, and when not in use automatically returns to the seal to protect the air lines. The AIR-DEFENSE Swinger System, now with six different gladhand options, gives commercial vehicle operators the choice that best suits their operation.

In addition to the two new anodized gladhand options, the AIR-DEFENSE Swinger System also is available with straight service and emergency gladhands, with standard aluminum bodies and powder coated connector plates, the QWIK-E – a quick exhaust valve and anodized gladhand combined into one – and without a gladhand to allow for customization.

The AIR-DEFENSE Swinger System with anodized gladhands will be an option for customers to spec under the Phillips UPTIME program.
