Legendary mountaineer to deliver Work Truck Week 2027 keynote
Ed Viesturs, the first American mountaineer to reach the summits of the world’s 14 highest peaks without using supplemental oxygen, will deliver the keynote address at Work Truck Week 2027. Viesturs will take the stage during the NTEA Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 11, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapoliis.
Viesturs spent 18 years completing "Endeavor 8000," ascending all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the treacherous "Death Zone." Drawing from more than 30 years as a professional climber—including seven summits of Mt. Everest and leading the expedition chronicled in the 1998 IMAX Everest documentary—he will share hard-earned insights on teamwork, risk management, leadership, and perseverance.
TJ Blandford, 2027 NTEA Convention chairman, noted that fewer than 100 people in recorded history have summited all 14 "eight-thousanders." Blandford emphasized that Viesturs’ experiences in meticulous planning and clear-sighted decision-making will inspire attendees on the discipline needed not only to reach ambitious goals, but to safely navigate back down.
Work Truck Week 2027, North America’s largest commercial vehicle event, runs March 9–12, 2027.
Tickets for the NTEA Annual Meeting, sponsored by Ford Pro, will go on sale when registration opens this fall.
