Chad Semler, product marketing director, and Abhi Pamulaparthy, chief product specialist, provided an update on International Truck’s medium-duty lineup, including MV changes and a CV Series introduction.

Key Durastar enhancements for the MV include a redesigned one-piece side window, more powerful HVAC system, new premium-gauge cluster for greater functionality and visibility, and switches grouped by frequency of use.

The MV is available with two Cummins engines, the B6.7 (200-325 horsepower, 520-750 lb-feet of torque) and L9 (260-380 hp, 720-1,250 lb-ft of torque), and three transmissions: Allison automatic (torque converter), Eaton Procision automatic (dual wet clutch) and Eaton Ultrashift automated manual.

In addition to a newly designed interior, with a host of new features, the MV also offers three side mirror options and a new cab-access step package that improves vertical step height, increases lateral step offset and step coverage of the door opening, resulting in improved entry and egress.

Other new options and features include a low cab with 04VGA air dryer location, forward-located AT device offerings and low-cab clean cab access.

The recently unveiled CV series features a 6.6-liter, 350-hp engine with 700 lb-ft of torque, standard diesel exhaust brake, and optional engine-mounted compressor and 120-volt/800-watt block heater.

A six-speed Allison transmission with available PTO provides reliability and strength.

The CVs commercial grade features include available 4-in bumper extension, pre-drilled holes for snow plow mounting, gear-driven transfer case, corrosion-resistant painted chassis, forward-tilting hood, passenger-side mounted diesel exhaust fluid tank, and high-strength, low-alloy steel frame rail.

Upfitter convenience features include a dual battery box under the cab, with optional third battery for body mounting, Huck Bolt chassis fasteners, straight frame rails with no rivets on the top flange, optional exhaust outlets to suit vocation and body, and multiple wheelbase and fuel-tank options.

International also highlighted several product offerings planned for the future, including a 2750 Series Allison transmission for HS, RDS and EVS models that offers a 23,500-lb gross vehicle weight rating, auxiliary switch pack with six additional switches and no-spin Eaton locking differential.
