At $59.7 million, second quarter 2006 shipments of workholding equipment for the United States were up 8.9 percent from the same quarter in 2005, according to the Workholding Product Group (WPG) of AMT — The Association for Manufacturing Technology. Workholding equipment shipments within the United States by the 37 companies participating in the WPG statistical report totaled $51.5 million, while exports amounted to $8.2 million.
