Wabash National Corp recognized day shift associates of the Lafayette IN-based trailer builder's production line 5 for achieving 365 days without a lost workday. About 105 associates of production line 5, which produces dry freight vans and double trailers, implemented continuous improvement initiatives throughout the year that helped achieve the safety milestone.
The production line 5 achievement is an example of the overall safety improvements Wabash National has made throughout the past year. In 2003, the company reduced overall workplace injuries by 51% and reduced the number of lost or restricted workdays by 6,500 days.
