The Used Truck Association will be sending cases of bottled water and $5,000 to assist in the relief efforts of the Hurricane Katrina victims.

Eddie Walker, president of the UTA, called an emergency meeting of the UTA board of directors on August 31. The board quickly approved sending cases of bottled water that were going to be used for the UTA’s 6th Annual Convention in November and a cash donation of $5,000 to assist with the devastation that hit the gulf states by Hurricane Katrina.

“The UTA sends its prayers and thoughts to the victims directly affected by Hurricane Katrina, and to their families across this nation and the world,” Walker said. “We hope the UTA's contribution can relieve some of the stress of this situation.
