The Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) announces program highlights scheduled for its 60th annual convention April 17-21, 2002, at Westin La Paloma in Tucson AZ.

Thursday, April 18:

  • TTMA Policy Committee meeting.

  • Tank conference business meeting. Tank Conference Chairman Tom Determan (Determan Brownie Inc) will preside.

  • First general session. Dr Lawrence Chimerine, president, Radnor International Consulting, will discuss “The New Global Realities — An Update.”

  • Associates' presentations: Bob Dubsky (Hadley Products), chairman for Associates, will moderate this session.

  • Engineering Committee meeting. Moderated by Engineering Committee Chairman Jeff Bennett (Utility Trailer), it is open to all convention registrants. It will be followed by an executive engineering session open to trailer manufacturers only.

  • Special tax meeting. Excise and general tax topics of interest to trailer/tank manufacturers will be the focus of discussion at this session. It will be conducted by Bernard Fischgrund, tax consultant. This meeting is open to all convention registrants.

Friday, April 19:

  • TTMA board meeting/business session: All member trailer and tank manufacturing executives are invited to attend.

  • Safety, security, and insurance concerns after September 11. A panel of transportation industry representatives will discuss how the terrorist attacks of September 11 have impacted the industry and give insights about dealing with these events.

  • Trailer forecast. Peter Toja, president, Economic Planning Associates Inc, will present a review and economic outlook for the trailer industry.
