Truck traffic up in Great Britain

Van traffic and truck traffic increased in Great Britain during the first quarter as compared to the same quarter a year ago, according to data from the Department for Transport.

Estimated traffic levels fell by 0.2 per cent, but van traffic was up 6% and truck traffic 5%. Buses and bikers did 12% less and motorway traffic rose 2% while that on minor roads was virtually unchanged.

Traffic on urban A roads and rural A roads fell by 3% and 1% respectively.
