The Transcraft D-Eagle aluminum/steel combo drop deck trailer was introduced in October 2000 with similar features and lightweight advantages of the popular Transcraft Eagle flatbed. Through its Continuous Improvement Process, Transcraft has increased the trailer's strength and enhanced its styling.

The previous wheel pan design required a reduced floor capacity over the tires and side rail, but this area has been replaced by a more efficient reinforced floor section and a continuous side rail for an improved look and structural performance. The new design eliminates bolted connections in the lower deck. Eliminating these connections increases strength and maintains a smoother side rail shape when the trailer flexes.

A new side rail drop section strengthens the lower deck's front support while providing the flexibility needed to move freely under the heaviest of loads. The combination of the two newly designed areas helps improve the overall performance of the already beefy, but lightweight trailer.

The D-Eagle is standard in 48- and 53-ft lengths and 96- or 102-in. widths with additional lengths available upon request. The beam capacity is 60,000 lbs. in 10 feet and 55,000 lbs. in 4 feet. Strength is critical when it comes to supporting a profitable payload, yet the D-Eagle is lightweight to keep fuel cost lower. A 48 ft by 102 in. with 121" air-ride spread configuration of the D-Eagle with standard options weighs approximately 10,120 lbs.

Lightweight options are available, reducing the weight to as low as 9,670 lbs. Tandem configurations are available in several axle-spacing options. Optional axle configurations can affect the trailer's weight and (GVWR) Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

An optional, five-year "Zero Maintenance" package is available. The package includes the electrical system, Hendrickson Intraax suspension, axle and wheel ends, landing gear, tri-functional bushings, air springs and all structural components.
