Seven-week diesel price hike ends

Stopping a seven-week run of price hikes, the national average price for a gallon of diesel dropped 3.2 cents to $3.033, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The biggest decline came in the Lower Atlantic region, which was down 7.4 cents to $2.89. That remained the cheapest regional price in the U.S.

The Rocky Mountain region experienced the largest price gain at 3.8 cents to $3.349, and also the most expensive in which to fill up.
