Buyers Products Co has introduced its new 1.5-cubic-yard polymer SHPE1500 Salt Dogg hopper salt and sand spreader. The Salt Dogg offers an exceptional flow of materials, ease of installation, and is virtually maintenance-free.
The hopper, constructed entirely of rotationally molded polyethylene, allows the unit to be installed with no additional mounting framework. An integrated positive position mount system, along with a four-piece ratchet tie-down kit, is all that is required to secure the spreader. No drilling is required.
Weighing just 400 pounds, the Salt Dogg is designed for ice and snow control and intended for salt and salt/sand mixtures with a variable spread width from 5' to 38'. Two ultra-quiet 12-volt DC gear motors, encased in a stainless steel housing, power the auger and spinner. An independently powered vibrator is also in the housing.
Material flow is guided from the auger system through an enclosed stainless steel chute with an external deflector, to an 11.5" polymer disc. The adjustable deflector allows for complete directional spreader control and full or compact spread.
A limited number of moving parts and the poly hopper, which won't rust or corrode, make the Salt Dogg virtually maintenance-free. The stainless steel spinner assembly is easily removable for cleaning and for protection during the off-season or between uses. A steel guard also protects the assembly during operation.
