West Chester, PA-based LTL carrier A. Duie Pyle is planning to swell its service network in the Northeast this year by opening a new terminal in Syracuse, NY, building another terminal in MA and implementing new technology to help increase the efficiency of pick-up and delivery routing, linehaul, and dock operations.

Peter Latta, the company president, unveiled these new initiatives in a series of what he dubbed "March Madness" meetings with over 1,800 employees, part of the company's effort to involve dock workers, linehaul drivers, P&D drivers, office staff, customer service representatives, operations staff, and sales and corporate employees in the strategic planning process.

"These open-forum meetings give us the chance to meet face-to-face with our entire team and make them a more prominent part of the company's big picture," Latta explained. "They're on the front lines with our customers every day and they need this information to provide the level of service that our customers expect and deserve. Plus, we get valuable feedback about how to improve our business from them."
