The new Power Stroke Diesel engine, designed and manufactured by International Truck and Engine Corp exclusively for Ford Motor Co, was named one of 2003's “Ten Best” engines by Ward's AutoWorld magazine.
The new Power Stroke Diesel engine is available on Ford F-250 through F-550 Super Duty pickups and chassis cabs, as well as the Ford Excursion. Mated with a new TorqShift five-speed automatic transmission from Ford, the new 32-valve diesel engine produces 325 horsepower at 3,300 rpm and 560 ft-lb of torque at 2,000 rpm.
