  Trailer, truck, & body OEMs   Hino Trucks announced the appointment of George Daniels to senior vice-president–sales and customer support. He succeeds Bob McDowell, who is no longer with the company. Daniels most recently served as president–service operations since joining Hino in 2003.

George Daniels

has appointed Bob Nida to the new position of vice-president of organizational development, and he will report to Bill Pitchford, senior vice-president, human resources. Nida most recently served as vice-president and general manager, retail. Rick Klein, formerly general manager for Transcraft, has been appointed vice-president and general manager, retail and will report to Dick Giromini, Wabash president and chief executive officer.

Heil Trailer International Co announced that Brian Polgrean has been promoted to manager of the research and development team. Previously dry bulk product development engineer, he has 15 years’ experience in heavy manufacturing. Jacob Radish has become plant manager at Heil’s Athens TN facility. He previously worked at Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh WI, where he held key leadership positions in operations and lean transformation. Heil announced that Ricardo Ibaven has accepted the position of controller at Heil Trailer Mexico. He brings more than 10 years of experience in the maquiladora industry working for manufacturing companies such as Continental, ECI, and Delphi Automotive.

Ryan Warren

has joined Hercules Manufacturing Co as an inside sales representative. Warren most recently worked as purchasing planner for the Sock Division of Delta Galil USA in Bowling Green KY.

Component manufacturers

Meritor Inc announced two appointments in its Commercial Truck & Industrial business. Joe Plomin has been named president, international, Europe, and Asia Pacific; Chris Villavarayan has been appointed president, Americas, responsible for the company’s North and South America Truck, Defense, and Specialty businesses. Plomin most recently served as vice-president, international operations, during which time he relocated to Europe. Villavarayan most recently served as vice-president, global manufacturing and supply chain management for Meritor.

Peterson Manufacturing has appointed Kristen Goodson vice-president–product management. She will report directly to Don Armacost Jr, Peterson’s president/chief executive officer, and will serve on the company’s board of directors. Goodson most recently was director of product management. She is the immediate past president and current board member of the Transportation Safety Equipment Institute (TSEI).

Ridewell has added Bryce Collier to its team as a design engineer who will be working specifically with trailer suspensions. Collier is originally from the Springfield MO area but graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne IN.

Tom Haughs

, a North American supplier of cargo control systems and metal products, announces that Tom Haughs, formerly with Tarpstop LLC, has joined EXALOY as vice-president of sales and marketing/general manager. He has more than 25 years of heavy-duty trucking experience. Accompanying him on the West Coast is Bob Abrahamson as director of sales. With more than 41 years of experience, Abrahamson served 17 of those years with Utility Trailers.

Safe Fleet has appointed John R Knox president and chief executive officer. He previously served as chairman of Royal Adhesives and Sealants. Before that, Knox was president and chief operating officer of Sovereign Specialty Chemicals and president of Valspar Europe.

Karmak Inc has hired Jim Allen as its director of accounts. He previously served as the national service director for Mitchell International. Karmak has promoted Lloyd Healy to the role of vice-president of corporate resources. Healy, who joined the firm in 2006, most recently was director of Karmak DS.
