KNAPHEIDE Mfg presented awards to its leading distributors during the NTEA convention in Atlanta.

With Larry Gatlin and his band waiting in the wings to entertain the crowd, H W “Knap” Knapheide announced the distributors who qualified for membership in the 1848 Club by selling at least 154 Knapheide service bodies and other products during 2002. The 154 matches the number of years that the Quincy, Illinois, truck body manufacturer has been in business. The company was started in 1848.

Knapheide welcomed nine new distributors into its 1848 Club. They were: Adscom Corporation, Glen Burnie MD; Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment Co of Mid Atlantic, Baltimore MD; Dixie Upfitting, Midland NC; James A Kiley Co, Somerville MA; O G Hughes & Sons, Knoxville TN; Phenix Enterprises, Pomona CA; Rector Equipment, San Diego CA; Truck Equipment Sales, Dothan AL; and Zoresco Equipment Co, Wickliffe OH.

Second-time winners were: Ameri-Tech Equipment Co, Casper WY; Caspers Truck Equipment, Appleton WI; Pacific Truck Colors, Tualatin OR; Southern Industrial Associates, Largo FL; Structural Metal Fabricators, Northampton PA.

Third-time: Commercial Truck & Van Equipment, Norcross GA; Miller Truck Equipment, Evansville IN; Truck Equipment Inc, Des Moines IA; and Unicell Body Co, Rochester NY.
