    The intermodal volume of trailers and containers on US railroads is down 3.1% this year to date, according to statistics released by the Association of American Railroads. Containers are up 0.1% (3,550,232, compared to 3,545,339 at this time in 2000), but trailers are down 10% (1,487,982, compared to 1,652,913). In Canada, the intermodal volume is up 2.7%.
