Godwin acquires R/S Truck Body

R/S Truck Body Co. of Allen, Ky., has been acquired by Godwin Manufacturing of Dunn, NC, as of the close of business August 16. The addition of R/S will add another 140,000 square feet of production capacity and 150 new employees to the 345,000 square feet and 175 employees Godwin has in Dunn, NC.The two companies together manufacture a full line of aluminum and steel dump bodies, trailers, roll back bodies, truck and trailer suspensions, and various truck hoists. Each company will market both product lines through their existing dealer and distributor network in addition to locating new customers in areas with growth opportunities.The combined companies will be very supportive of each other by filling in product areas of weakness that presently exist and by combining the knowledge and experience of two companies that have both been in business more than 30 years.
