Q3 Fleet Sentiment responses indicate that fleets are more likely to be adding capacity at this time with the purchase of additional trailers rather than increase the number of power units in their operation.

While 71% of the fleets polled are planning to purchase power units in the next six months, on average the percent of those purchases designated as added capacity is estimated at 20%. More trailer purchases, on average 38%, are planned to add capacity to the fleets.

The Fleet Sentiment questionnaire is distributed quarterly by CK Marketing & Communications (www.ckkemmercomm.com) to approximately 100 fleets operating a total of 117,000 medium- and heavy-duty power units and over 140,000 trailers. Thirty-three For-Hire, Private and Government Fleets participated in the 3Q statistics.
