Durakon will open new plant in Tennessee

Durakon Industries, manufacturer of cargo management, accessories, and systems for the light-truck market, will open its new multi-million-dollar cargo

Durakon Industries, manufacturer of cargo management, accessories, and systems for the light-truck market, will open its new multi-million-dollar cargo management systems production facility in Clinton TN in the first quarter of 2003.

This plant, located at 1330 Carden Farm Drive, is 166,000 square feet and equipped with new automated manufacturing technology. It will serve as Durakon's North American manufacturing headquarters and distribution center for its Duraliner and Allstar domestic aftermarket bedliners. Durakon's Bodygard manufacturing facility at 190 J D Yarnell Industrial Parkway and distribution center at 108 West Center Stage Business Park will be consolidated into this new facility.

Durakon will also transfer from its Lapeer MI facility the manufacturing of its original equipment bedliners for Nissan, Toyota, and General Motors. The facility at 1355 Carden Farm Drive will be unaffected by this action.

The new Durakon plant will manufacture Duraliner and Allstar aftermarket bedliner systems for all truck beds and Kawasaki Mule bedliners and tops, as well as van panels for Chrysler, GM, and Ford.
