Diesel price up slightly

As crude oil prices continue their upward climb, the average price for a gallon of diesel nationally increased 0.8 cents to $2.926 for the week ending July 16, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

As crude oil prices continue their upward climb, the average price for a gallon of diesel nationally increased 0.8 cents to $2.926 for the week ending July 16, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).


The biggest increase came in the Central Atlantic region -- 2.9 cents to $2.992. Although California has the highest prices in the country at #3.097, it experienced its fifth consecutive week of price breaks, this time 1.6 cents - the biggest of the week.

The Lower Atlantic remained the cheapest region, despite a 1.5-cent jump to $2.864.
