The average price for diesel nationally fell for the third consecutive week, according to figures released by the Department of Energy.

At $1.717, it has fallen 0.7 cents from a one-year high of $1.724 on April 19.

While most areas of the country were experiencing a decline, the West Coast endured a 4.3-cent increase to $2.146, keeping it by far the most expensive diesel in the country.
