The COMTRANS trade fair, which took place from Sept. 13-17 in Moscow, set a record with 20,227 visitors, 65% more than the previous year and 8.3% more than the record year of 2008.

The fair was boosted by a 70% increase in the number of exhibitors and 100% increase in the exhibition space over 2010.

“The great interest of industry specialists, above all from Russia, but also from other regions of Eastern Europe, and the large number of international exhibitors, definitively highlight COMTRANS´ position as the leading trade fair,” said Alexey Striganov, president of the trade fair organizer MEDIA GLOBE.

The International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) included COMTRANS in its official trade fair calendar for the first time this year. In future, COMTRANS will take place every two years in alternate years to the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show.

The next COMTRANS fair will be in September 2013 on the Crocus exhibition grounds.
