The press briefing was part of a five-day, bi-annual event that attracted 1,300 exhibitors and drew over 85,000 persons involved in truck-trailer commercial vehicle operations.

"We've been in the South American commercial vehicle aftermarket for over eight years, witnessed continual growth and expansion of services, and remain firmly committed to our aftermarket growth,” said Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager of ArvinMeritor's Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket business. The company sells axles, brakes, drivelines, wheels and exhaust systems in South America under the Meritor, Euclid, Arvin and Fumagalli brands.

ArvinMeritor's South American aftermarket business/distribution operations is in Osasco, Brazil, a suburb of Sao Paulo. The company's commercial vehicle aftermarket business maintains substantial operations in United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
