Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased by 12% from January to October 2005. In total, 85,366 trucks were delivered to customers, compared with 76,116 vehicles in the same period the previous year.
In Europe, deliveries were on a par with the same period last year (down 1%), totaling 34,253 trucks. In Russia, deliveries increased by 92% to 903 vehicles (470). There were increased deliveries also in Britain (8%) and France (15%).
Sales continued to increase on the North American market, with deliveries rising by 30% from January to October. The number of trucks delivered totaled 26,702 units (20,471). This increase stems primarily from renewal of the ageing truck fleet in North America.
Also in South America and Asia, deliveries increased by 9% and 21% respectively. India saw a virtual doubling of deliveries (82%) compared with the same period last year.
