Freightliner plant builds 100,000th chassis

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp rolled off its 100,000th chassis from the company's Gaffney SC assembly line during a celebration event Oct 23, 2003.

The October 23 event was attended by South Carolina and local officials, employees, and customers. It featured a parade of FCCC products, plant tours, and other ceremonies.

The Gaffney plant, which employs more than 800 people and has 255,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space, was purchased by Freightliner from Oshkosh Truck Corp in 1995.
