To recognize some of the best new products and technological innovations that are introduced annually at The Work Truck Show, the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) announced the return of two awards programs for The Work Truck Show 2006: the New Product Innovation Award and the Editors' Choice Award for New Product Innovation.

The Work Truck Show 2006 is held in conjunction with the 42nd Annual NTEA Convention at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, March 1-3, 2006. (Convention and educational sessions start Feb. 28.)

For New Product Innovation Award eligibility, exhibitors must participate in the New Product Spotlight program -- a multi-media campaign that publicizes new products prior to, during, and following the show. Participating exhibitors are automatically entered to compete in the award program.

Work Truck Show attendees are invited to vote for what they consider the most innovative product introduced through the Spotlight program. The exhibitor receiving the most attendee votes wins the right to use the "Work Truck Show 2006 New Product Innovation Award Winner" designation in its marketing efforts as well as a special plaque. In addition, the winner will be featured in a variety of NTEA media.

The New Product Innovation Award was introduced at The Work Truck Show 2004. The most recent winner was A.L. Hansen Manufacturing Co. (Waukegan, IL) for its Jet Rack ladder racking system featured at The Work Truck Show 2005.

Attendees and trade media alike seek out - and find - the latest products and innovations at The Work Truck Show. Recognizing this, the NTEA rolled out the Editors' Choice Award for New Product Innovation at The Work Truck Show 2005. Choosing from Spotlight and New Product Media Guide participants, editors vote for the most significant product or innovation at the show.

Exhibitors are automatically entered to compete in the Editors' Choice Award when they register for the Spotlight and/or Media Guide program. The exhibitor receiving the highest number of editorial votes wins, and may use the "Work Truck Show 2006 Editors' Choice Award Winner" designation in marketing the recognized product. The winner also receives a special plaque and is featured in a variety of NTEA media.

The inaugural Editors' Choice Award produced two winners: Crysteel Manufacturing Inc. (Lake Crystal, MN) for the ProMax Super Dump, and Rostra Precision Controls (Laurinburg, NC) for the Rearsight/Passive Rear Camera System. Details and participation forms for exhibitors are available in the "Exhibitor Central" area of the NTEA Web site, NTEA.com. The deadline for entry in both programs is Dec. 2.

Online registration for The Work Truck Show 2006 opens at www.ntea.com in October.
