Great Dane Limited Partnership has completed its acquisition of Trailmobile Trailer LLC's plants in Jonesboro AR and Charleston IL. The purchase includes raw material inventories, machinery, and equipment and the intellectual property of the company.
“We plan to initiate production of Great Dane vans in Jonesboro in the fourth quarter of this year,” said Phill Pines, chief operations officer, Great Dane Limited Partnership. “Due to the current weak market conditions of the trailer industry, there are no immediate plans to open Charleston.”
The purchase of Trailmobile Trailer is the second major acquisition by Great Dane in less than a year. In November 2001, Great Dane acquired the Danville PA and Abbeville SC plants of Strick Trailer Corp.
