More gradual diesel-price hikes are expected after weeks of drastic increases, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The average price for a gallon of retail diesel nationally rose five cents to $2.168 last week – about half of the previous week’s 9.8-cent increase.
The price was up in every region, with the Gulf Coast experiencing the largest hike (6.5 cents to $2.10) but still maintaining the least expensive prices. The West Coast had the smallest increase (3.8 cents to $2.45).
