The Fluid Control Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation now offers its glycol control valves in a completely forged body design to the heavy-duty vehicle market. The new valve setup features a one-piece valve body with machined hose end connections to eliminate two potential leak points.
The two-way normally closed valves can be incorporated into the vehicle's heating and cooling system to regulate accessory equipment. Specifically, applications include cab heating systems; urea tank heaters on Selective Catalytic Reduction systems for emissions control; and any other auxiliary system where control of glycol or other water-based media is required.
Valves that control glycol are constructed with brass bodies and EPDM seals and are available in 12- and 24-volt DC. They can operate in the pressure range from 3 to 44 psi (0.2 to 3 bar) with an ambient temperature range of -40° to 180° F (-40° to 82° C), and media temperature range from -40° to 230° F (-40° to 110° C).
The watertight electrical connection is IP67 and IP6K9K rated with the proper mating connectors installed.
